Mattson & Co. a  casual, elegant spot on Hamilton’s Locke Street

“The interior is elegant, but casual. Not quite white-linen-tablecloth-level, but still an air of relaxed formality. There’s an impressive wine list, available by the glass and bottle.” Hamilton Spectator

Mattson & Co. is an elegant restaurant on Hamilton’s Locke Street. We emphasize locally-sourced ingredients and talent – from the menu through to VQA wines to local live musicians every week.

Founded by local restauranteur Ronn Mattai, along with his business partners Rossano Bonito, Jane Hunter and Executive Chef Mike Middlemost, our vision is to bring quality ingredients, drinks and jazz to #HamOnt foodies.

“There’s no question that these guys have elevated the Hamilton fine dining game.”

“The décor and ambiance were really nice.  They kept it classy and contemporary and veered away from the trendy/eclectic/hipster scene that we are seeing so much of lately in the hammer.”

“It [referring to the Deep-fried Egg Skillet] was extremely well-balanced and delicious. I couldn’t get enough! After the first bite I just had to sit and enjoy the forkful as I tasted each and every ingredient and enjoyed the amazing textural components. This dish was a masterpiece. Likely one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time. Outstanding.”

-Erik Klyve

“The jazz here is organically in and of the place, from the photos of Art Blakey, Lena Horne and others to the live jazz insistently featured at Mattson & Co; from the look and jazzy feel to the special acoustic cloth square panels on the ceiling.”

The Hamilton Spectator

“It is an elegant environment made warm and friendly by the staff. In particular our waiter, Sean Atherton, went above and beyond to make the meal special. His recommendations for food and wine were spot on, unique and he had the knowledge to back it all up.”
